Ms. Marcella & her sweet mama needed some help from our friends at Kootenai Health so they could both be safe throughout labor. Whenever mamas are planning for a birth in the community setting, but for medical reasons they need to head to the hospital it comes with a lot of big feelings. Marcella’s family worked together to navigate these sudden changes. Her sweet mama held on to her power, used her intuition & made all the right choices to bring her wee little babe earthside✨

Rowan’s mama holds an extra special spot in the HazelTree team’s heart. When we joined her in labor we witnessed her powerfully use all of the tricks to bring her baby earth side. After a good chunk of time, she realized that the tools needed to help sweet Rowan make his appearance were at the hospital, not at home.

Rowan’s mama made empowered decisions, & advocated so well for herself & finally met her beautiful boy! We were so grateful for Coulee Medical Center for receiving us kindly, & being so willing to respect this mama’s decisions for her birth.

Miss Elyza Ruth’s mama needed some extra care at the end of her pregnancy & the HazelTree team was so happy that she was able to be plugged in with our friend Dr. Nathan Meltzer at Kootenai OB/GYN

When her labor came, it was fast & furious and the HazelTree team was at another birth. We were so grateful for stepping in as her doula to make sure she was well loved.

Elyza is so beautiful, & it was such an honor to be a part of her family’s care🫶🏻

Declan Theodore has a pretty special birth story. If you’re a birth worker, I'm sure you've guessed by where babe's feet are in this photo, but Declan was born breech! His parents pivoted from a planned home birth to WA hotel birth when little Declan was determined to stay breech.

His mama labored beautifully, & this sweet boy was welcomed into the world with the HazelTree team & the lovely Juniper Midwifery as witnesses. Such a great testament to as Declan’s birth was truly safe & textbook.

He is adored by his family, especially his older brother & it was such a joy to walk this journey alongside this wonderful family✨
