Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Coeur d'Alene Residency

As an affiliate of the UW Family Medicine Residency Network, we work with national leaders in family medicine, rural practice and primary care.

Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Coeur d’Alene Residency combines a multitude of regional resources to train family physicians to meet the challenges of a growing rural community in the 21st century. We provide residents with the unique experience of practicing medicine in northern Idaho under the direction of an experienced and diverse faculty and dynamic curriculum. As an affiliate of the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network, Kootenai fully participates with national leaders in family medicine, rural practice and patient-centered primary care. Our faculty has the experience and skills necessary to train residents for rural medicine as well as inpatient and outpatient family practice. Their professionalism and first-hand experience make them ideal mentors for fostering and teaching compassionate patient care. Our practice-based environment creates a team approach to learning and allows open feedback to help to improve each individual and their teammates.

☀️Where can we find you when not at work: Out in the forest with my dog Evie! Or tucked in at home with a good book.

💚 Favorite thing about Coeur d’ Alene: The beautiful surrounding geography. I feel so lucky to be able to spend so much time outdoors in my free time.

🏥 Why I chose KH Residency: Many reasons, but most importantly the people and the supportive learning environment. It’s a great place to train to be a full spectrum physician.

☀️Where can we find you when not at work: on the golf course, in the gym, or outside in the woods

💚 Favorite thing about Coeur d’ Alene: it’s a tie between how nice and welcoming everyone has been to me having moved from halfway across the country, and how great the outdoor activities are (lake, forest, mountains) very close by

🏥 Why I chose KH Residency: I would like to practice in a rural community in the future so I wanted to join a program that had a clear mission and track record of producing rural FM physicians. I also liked that the program was located in a neat place and was run by faculty and residents that I thought I would get along with, and so far that has 100% been the case!

This experience will allow for further training in surgical obstetrics, prenatal and postpartum care of high-risk patients, and office based gynecological procedures.

🏠 Hometown: Bozeman, MT

🎓 College + Med School: Montana State University/ Medical College of Wisconsin - Green Bay

☀️Where can we find you when not at work: I love spending time paddle boarding, mountain biking, at the gym, spending time with friends and family, and being involved with my church

💚 Favorite thing about Coeur d’ Alene: I appreciate the availability and close proximity to so many outdoor activities. I always came here for the Fourth of July growing up, so it is really neat to live and work here now!

🏥 Why I chose KH Residency: This residency provided the perfect mix of rigorous training all around that I feel will prepare me well for future practice coupled with a supportive culture from the faculty, to clinic staff, specialists, and co-residents!
