An agreement has been reached between Kootenai Health and Regence BlueShield that preserves access to care for our community. Throughout this process patients were at the center of every decision with a clear priority of continuity, stability, and local access to care. This outcome allows families to continue seeing their doctors and specialists while supporting the teams who provide care every day. Thank you to our community for your patience and continued trust.

We want to provide reassurance and share an important update for patients covered by Regence BlueShield. Our goal is to reach an agreement as soon as possible, and both organizations remain actively engaged in that process. Kootenai Health continues to negotiate with Regence in good faith.

If a contract is not finalized by the end of the year, certain patients may still qualify to continue receiving care at Kootenai Health under federal 90 day continuity of care provisions. This applies to expectant mothers, patients currently in cancer treatment, and others with qualifying medical needs.

We know uninterrupted care is essential for you and your family. Kootenai Health and Regence are committed to finding a resolution as quickly as possible and ensuring patients understand their options during this time.
