Every behavior has a purpose.
Instead of asking “How do I stop this?”, try asking:
👉 “What is my child’s brain trying to accomplish right now?”
Sometimes kids are seeking input (like crashing, chewing, or spinning).
Other times, they’re avoiding input (like covering ears, refusing hugs, or melting down in noisy places).
When we pause and look through this brain-based lens, we shift from reacting to understanding.
That’s when we can truly support our kids in building stronger tools for connection, learning, and growth.
