What's it like to be a CNA at Prairie Senior? Here's a small visual captured in the pictures that we can't explain in just an ad or flyer!

It's more than a team, find out first hand that it's more of a family of residents, their families and coworkers who show up for each other. We spend our days not only caring for our residents but getting to be apart of their stories, hold their hands, watch them smile, dress up to celebrate a holiday or a big rivalry game, let them explore and truly making the days count. Our staff often bring their kids (furry and human) to see our residents when they aren't working or to our facility events. It's really something to be a part of. Colby is rooted in the hub of NWK with traditions of family, community and rural small town feel. The residents we have the privilege of taking care of invest in you just as much as we strive to invest in them - they shower us with love, hugs (and sometimes cookies!) which can truly make your day knowing what you do MATTERS! There is no number great enough to measure the difference CNAs make in their role in long term care - the eyes and ears of our residents who play a vital part in our success & quality care!

Patient Spotlight: Meet Edna
At 98 years old, Edna had one goal in mind: “I want to get back home.”

After a hospital stay, she began working with our rehab team to regain her strength. At first, she could only walk about 10 feet. But with care from Grace during her time in the hospital and support from Jeremiah at Prairie Senior, Edna kept making progress, step by step.

Today, she is back at home, living independently and continuing to build her strength. We're proud of you, Edna!

Last week went by so fast. We had multiple visitors in our facility fury and not.

Our annual softball game with the School aged Program, has been changed to indoor games and activities.
We have enjoyed the change in weather and the rain, but it has put a damper on our outdoor fun this week.

Unfortunately, Picnic in the Park has been cancelled for today so we will not be shuttling residents out today as planned on our Nursing Home Week schedule. For who were planning to enjoy their lunch hour with us we wanted to notify you in case you had not seen the cancellation.

We will try another week to enjoy this fun community event with our residents. Thanks for your understanding!

Family BBQ Event for tonight is still on, we will just be INSIDE due to the (always welcomed) rain! Friendly reminder the start time is 5PM. 🕔

We will have the meal, sides and drinks - visitors just need to bring themselves! There is no entertainment or side event, just a good ol' fashion family meal with conversation and laughter! Come when you can and leave when you want. 😊

We are Celebrating National Nursing home week the first week of June. Follow the Calendar to join in on the fun! We try to incorporate the National Theme "Tapestry of Life."
This is where we celebrate all the people who make up Prairie Senior; Nurses, Aides, Admin, EVS, Plant Ops, Dietary, Family and of course our Residents. Without them we would not be able to come together and create such a unique and loving facility.

Our residents were looking forward to this all morning. The men’s basketball team visited the facility. They played games, listened to stories, shared snacks and much more. 🍿🍦🃏🎲
