Today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day and we got fresh cookies in town to drop off to local businesses. Have yourself a chocolate chip cookie today to celebrate!

Harrington Court had a great time with the Colchester Senior Center and playing Name That Tune for National Boredom Month! We gave away goodies and prizes. We all worked as a team to name that tune, and even got 1 point for Harrington Court!

Our residents spotted a cunning little friend in the garden this week while tending to the plants. This praying mantis is just a baby! Let's hope they grow up and raise a family so our gardens will be free of pests for years to come. Thank you for all you do, little friend!

Running of the bulls at Harrington Court! Residents volunteered to be the "runners" and the "bulls" All had a great time walking through the hallways bringing cheer to others!

Residents helping residents! Our residents made floral arrangements from the flowers we grew in our gardens and recreation shared them with some of our other residents who could use a pick-me-up. So sweet!

Happy National Postal Worker's Day! Harrington Court delivered goody bags to the Colchester Post Office and gave our postal person a goody bag on their daily delivery which they said was a nice surprise! 'sDay

Harrington Court is hosting a Food Drive this week! Stop by to drop off non-perishable food items for the Colchester Food Bank. Items in need are: canned baked beans, pasta-roni and hygienic products. Any donation is appreciated!

Meet Rose. Rose was living at a local assisted living facility but she required more assistance due to dementia. At first. the family hired an aide to go into the assisted living facility but they knew she needed the 24/7 care at a skilled nursing facility. Rose's family took the advice of a neighbor to place their mother into Harrington Court. After touring the facility and speaking with the Admissions Director, they felt more at ease knowing that Rose was going to get the care she needed. Rose was with us for more than a year, but her dementia continued to progress. Rose was just discharged to another facility with a dementia unit, but the family said, "Harrington Court was a home-like environment and cheerful, and the activities department was wonderful."

It was a beautiful day for a cookout!

Harrington Court grilled up some food and side salads for the residents and staff today. Later on, Keith and Sarah from Elder Crew brought an ice cream truck for staff and residents to enjoy!

Harrington Court introduces Dr. Osman Qureshi, the facility's new psychiatrist! Dr. Q is the Chief Medical Officer for Supportive Care and will make his rounds at the facility along with APRN Jeong "Kim" Pak and social worker, Ursula Moreshead. Their new addition to the Harrington Court team will provide mental health services to long and short term residents.
