The first baby born at Mercer Health Hospital in 2026 is Vera Bruggeman, daughter of Ross and Krista Bruggeman, of St. Henry. She will be loved greatly by her big sister, Sylvia. 🌹

Vera was born on January 1, 2026 at 10:39 am. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 15 oz and measured 21".

She received a blanket and a book (the book may be enjoyed more by Sylvia at this time 😀). Her dad and mom received $50 in Chamber Bucks.

Mercer County Right to Life says, "Congratulations" to the Bruggeman Family. We praise God for this new life, a precious gift from Him! 🩷

Mercer County Right to Life Meeting Thursday, December 4 at 7:00pm
At The Preferred Insurance Center in Coldwater (across from Mercer Health Hospital)

Come and hear what is happening in the lives of two young men from our area who will be speaking. Their topic will be on their desire to take a bigger step forward in the pro-life movement by working with Created Equal, a pro-life ministry based out of Columbus.

MERCER COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE ESSAY CONTESTS: Mercer County RTL is excited to sponsor their youth essay contests for the following age groups: 9th / 10th grade and 11th / 12th grade. The cash prizes for each group are as follows: 2nd place will receive 200 dollars and 1st place will receive 300 dollars! All participants will receive a $20 McDonald’s gift card.
Each educational or persuasive essay is to be 600 – 800 words and to have one of the following topics: ‘Why I Am Pro-Life’, ‘How I Defend My Pro-Life Position’, or ‘How I Can Assist the Pro-Life Movement’.
Essays will be scored equally on four criteria: grammar, facts, creativity, and inspiration. All essays expected to reflect the pro-life convictions held by Mercer County Right to Life.
Please include in subject line of the e-mail submission the contestant’s name. In the message portion please list the contestant’s address, age group essay is to be entered, and school. All high school students who live in or worship in Mercer County are eligible.
Essays are to be e-mailed to prolifegeneration.mercercounty@outlook.com by January 18th, 2026. Good luck!

REMINDER: Our next MCRTL meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, October 23 @7:00pm. It will be held at Preferred Insurance Center, 809 W. Main St., Suite 2 (basement), across from the Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater. Please park in the back of the building.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: Mercer County RTL is excited to announce the winner of our T-Shirt Design Contest. This year there were 27 contestants who used their time and talents towards this life affirming contest. We appreciate our three volunteer judges for their help: Allison Moeller, Heather Stammen, and Lisa Homan. All contestants were asked to submit a design that utilized one side of a t-shirt and used a maximum of two colors. All entries were scored on their level of inspiration and creativity. Our winning design will be used for the 2026 ‘Pro-Life T-Shirt Day’ in April. This year’s winning design came from Lyla Homan…CONGRATULATIONS!

The Ohio March for life is THIS Friday, October 3rd, at our state capital. Mercer County Right to Life will be taking a bus. The cost will be $25 for adults and $10 for students. There are plenty of seats open!

If you are attending this event, please bring a lawn chair and a sack lunch.
