With warmer days here, our fuzzy friends are working extra hard pollinating and keeping their hives cool. Just like us, they need water to thrive! Providing a safe water source is an easy way to lend a helping hand (or wing!).
Today's Tip: Create a Bee Watering Station! (It's simpler than it sounds!)
Grab a Shallow Dish: A pie plate, a plant saucer, or even an old bird bath base works perfectly.
Add Landing Spots: Fill the dish with pebbles, marbles, twigs, or even wine corks! This is CRUCIAL β it gives bees safe places to land and drink without falling in and drowning. πͺ΅
Just Add Water: Pour fresh water over the pebbles/marbles, leaving the tops exposed as landing pads.
Place it Thoughtfully: Set your bee oasis near flowering plants or in a quieter part of your garden.
Keep it Fresh: Refill as needed and clean it out regularly to keep it healthy for the bees!
This simple setup provides essential hydration for honeybees (like the ones cared for by Hives of Hope!) and other beneficial insects. Let's help keep our vital pollinators happy and hydrated this season! π
