From our froends; the Aussies from down under😊

☀️ Here in Australia we’ve been hit hard with a pretty nasty summer flu. And with our friends in Europe and the USA deep in cold + flu weather, it’s a good time to stay proactive about managing congestion and those blocked up, chesty feelings.

When congestion takes a hold, I grab my ultrasonic inhaler (nebuliser)— and most days my first pick is Rosemary essential oil. A few slow breaths and it feels like the head clears, the sinuses open, and the brain switches back on again.

Here’s a simple, easy breakdown of my three go-to oils:

🌿 Rosemary
Great when you feel foggy and blocked through the sinuses. Rosemary contains 1,8-cineole, which is known for supporting that clear-airways feeling and helping loosen stubborn congestion. It also gives a nice mental lift, like turning the lights back on upstairs.

🌳 Eucalyptus
That classic crisp Aussie bush scent we all know. Also rich in 1,8-cineole, which helps create a sense of openness through the chest and nose and supports easier breathing when you’re stuffed up. Fresh, clearing and great for daytime.

🌶️ Cardamom
Warm, smooth and calming — not as sharp as peppermint. Cardamom contains compounds like terpinyl acetate, which give it a gentle, soothing feel for the airways. A beautiful option when you want support without that harsh, punchy menthol hit.

👉 If you’ve only got one oil , just use the one.
Rosemary on its own still does a brilliant job.

👉 If you’ve got all three, you get a lovely triple-action effect
clearing + opening + calming.

💨 Why I love the ultrasonic inhaler
It turns a tiny amount of essential oil into a fine, cool mist you can breathe in, so it feels gentle, targeted and effective without being overpowering. Perfect for short, soothing breathing sessions when congestion flares up.

✨ Smooth Breathing Ultrasonic Inhaler Blend

2 drops Eucalyptus (Radiata if you want it milder)

1 drop Rosemary

1 drop Cardamom

Take a few slow breaths… and let things open up and settle.

Stay well, rest when you can, drink plenty of water, and here’s to clearer breathing and feeling more like yourself again 💚

Who here has experienced a similar experience?

Better yet….who doesn’t know the benefits of OnGuard?

This is from another: A Simple On Guard Moment I’ll Never forget

A couple of years ago, during the elections here in Istanbul, I was assigned to count votes. I was working side-by-side with another man who was clearly not feeling well — nonstop sneezing, runny nose, red face, low energy. You could tell a cold was coming on strong.

I told him I had On Guard and asked if he was open to trying something natural. I put 2–3 drops in his hands, had him rub them together, remove his glasses, cup his hands over his nose and mouth, and take about 5 slow, deep breaths.

That was it.

About 15 minutes later, the sneezing had stopped. His face looked calmer, less red, and even he noticed the difference. Nothing dramatic — just a clear shift. I’ve remembered that moment ever since.

Since then, On Guard has been one of those oils I personally reach for early — especially when something feels “off.” For our family, it’s become part of our daily environment rather than something we wait to use.

My parents are both in their 80s, and we keep things very simple for them. We diffuse On Guard for about an hour in the morning and again in the late afternoon or evening. We also add Lemon to the diffuser because it feels uplifting and supportive for mental clarity. It’s an easy routine they can stick to, and over time we’ve noticed they tend to bounce back better during seasonal changes.

This isn’t about perfection — just small, consistent habits that support the body and the home.

If you’re new to essential oils, this is one of the gentlest places to start.

Most people think oils are just about the scent — but the real value is in how they support daily routines.
