May is Speech Therapy month, and we couldn’t forget about our awesome Speech Therapist Reagan Hadden.

Throughout May, Speech and Language Month aims to raise awareness concerning disorders of speech, hearing, voice, and language. Communication disorders can develop at any point during a lifetime with varied causes. Whether present at birth or developed later due to injury, illness, or genetic disorder, treatments are available. Speech-language pathologists can help you to improve quality of life and improve recovery.

HAPPY OT MONTH!!

April is Occupational Therapy Month & we would like to acknowledge our OTs! Meet our Occupational Therapy team: Mallorie, Yumiko, and Amy.

Mallorie has been an OT with us for a year and a half. She works in all of our settings including outpatient rehab, inpatient and swing bed, as well as home health. Yumiko has been with us for several years and now helps us when needed with swingbed and inpatient rehab. Amy is a certified occupational therapy assistant who also helps when needed with swingbed and inpatient rehab as well as with home health services.

What is occupational therapy most people ask? Occupational Therapists focus on adapting, modifying or changing daily activities that a person is required or wants to do. They also help with strength training including fine motor skills, range of motion, and balance focused on improving a patient's independence and safety within the home and community!

A big congratulations to our Physical Therapist, Sheryl. She has recently graduated from Motion Institutes of Health Professions with her Doctorate Degree! She is now a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We are so fortunate to have her here at Coleman County Medical Center!
