This is awesome news for those that plan to give birth in Midland.

Babies who require advanced care after birth can now remain close to home, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland's Special Care Nursery.

For babies who are 32 weeks gestational age and older, the nursery will provide advanced care for conditions including transient tachypnea of the newborn, neonatal abstinence syndrome, feeding and swallowing concerns and conditions that require short term cardio-respiratory monitoring or respiratory support. The Medical Center will continue to facilitate transportation to a regional NICU for babies whose conditions require a higher level of care.
