Light the World in Teal is an annual program held in November as part of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. People and places around the world “go teal” to raise awareness and show support for the millions of people affected by Alzheimer’s. Today is the day! Holiday Hill/Allen Center is wearing our teal to raise awareness to all those who are affected by Alzheimer’s and their families.

We had so much fun at our new Senior Center running BINGO!!! We took some of our residents for the chicken spaghetti lunch and they loved it! Holiday Hill will be back at the Senior Center on Nov 17 to do exercise and then back on Dec 1 to do bingo. We hope everyone can join!

We’ve made it an annual tradition now to help with Cross Coleman Tx (a Ministry of Matthew 25 Ministries) for meals for Thanksgiving. A few years ago we asked CCMC and the clinic, and Coleman Healthcare to help us with a healthcare food drive for the meals. It’s been fun to join together to help our community. The ministry feeds approximately 600 meals each Thanksgiving. We are thankful for their service and so happy we can be a small helpful part of their blessings.

October is Physical Therapy Month!!! We don’t have enough space to say all the reasons we are so thankful to Cris Cango, our PTA! We have the very BEST! Our residents LOVE him, our staff LOVE him, and our resident families LOVE him! What’s not to love, Cris is passionate about his career, his residents, and helping others. We appreciate Cris year around, but we enjoyed recognizing him this month for all he does for us at The Hill. Thank you for getting our residents going. “It hurts today, it works tomorrow”. Cris you’re doing “gait”!!!

Our resident Meal of the Month! Our residents chose homemade beef enchiladas, but opted out for rice and beans as the sides. So we had to shake it up a bit! Corn and a side salad, paired with sopapilla cheesecake worked perfectly. Everyone loved it! Special thanks to our cooks Naomi and Aleesha who worked very hard on the enchiladas to make them to perfection, and Sheila and Karen for the delicious dessert!
