We love Betty! What an amazing honor for her!

Red Cedar Speedway is proud to announce that Betty Frank will be the third and final inductee into our 2025 Hall of Fame!

A lifelong resident of Menomonie, many of you may recognize Betty from around town. And if you know Betty, you know two things—she loves people, and she loves numbers.

Betty began selling tickets at Red Cedar Speedway in 1973 while also working in the business office at Myrtle Werth Hospital. She continued her hospital career until retiring in 1995 at the age of 68. While many assumed she retired because of her age, Betty will tell you herself—the real reason was the arrival of computers in the office. That just wasn’t her style. Betty is “old school” and believes math should be done in your head or on paper.

After retiring, Betty stayed busy volunteering at the Shirley Doane Senior Center. There she enjoyed setting tables for lunch, helping prepare Meals on Wheels deliveries, and popping popcorn for Friday bingo.

Betty spent an incredible 30 years at Red Cedar Speedway, where she got her perfect fix of numbers and people. She sold her last ticket in 2003 at the age of 76.

Red Cedar Speedway is deeply grateful for Betty’s three decades of dedication and service. As she joins our Hall of Fame, we are also thrilled to celebrate her upcoming 98th birthday.

Thank you, Pleasant Valley Tree Farm for this amazing opportunity! Our Willow residents took a wagon ride through Pleasant Valley! We enjoyed the smells, the scenery, and the company. The weather this year was a little too warm, but we still enjoyed it!
We went home with warm apple cider, Hot Chocolate, Popcorn, and Pumpkins! Once we get all the pumpkins painted, we will share!

We took Nancy to watch her granddaughter play volleyball! So glad we could make this happen for her! The smiles and joy on everyone’s face was well worth it!
