Callan’s journey with Hirschsprung disease finally took a turn for the better! With the expertise of the Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction team, Callan is thriving, playing and growing stronger every day. ❤️🔗

Callan endured years of painful setbacks due to complications from Hirschsprung disease, but after expert care from Marc Levitt, MD, and his team at Children's National Hospital, a successful surgery brought lasting relief and transformed his quality of life.

These two found something stronger than medicine — each other. 💕

Maryam and Amelia share more than a February birthday month, they’re both bravely fighting B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Amelia was diagnosed at just 4 years old and Maryam at 5. Now, both girls are nearing the end of their treatment journeys: Amelia will finish this fall, and Maryam next year. Congratulations, girls!!!

Along the way, a pen pal program called Letters to Isabel connected them through encouraging words and hopeful messages. What started as letters has grown into a true friendship, one that reminds them they’re not walking this road alone, and that even in treatment, kids deserve to just be kids. For Maryam and Amelia, having a friend who truly understands has been a source of strength and joy. And for their moms, it’s meant finding comfort in someone who knows the ups and downs of caregiving.

Two girls. Two families. One powerful reminder: no one fights alone.
