Being accepted is a universal

One of the most powerful parts of the AIT Seminar is seeing coaches from around the world realize that inclusion is possible in their own communities

This coach shared how the training gave him the confidence and tools to better support athletes who need adaptations and help them feel truly included in fitness and part of a team!

Even more inspiring???

He’s already thinking about how to bring these ideas and resources back to his home country, where adaptive fitness education and equipment are still limited. We love that 💙

💪 That’s the ripple effect of education...one coach learns… and an entire community becomes stronger

Inclusion is absolutely the right thing to do…but the fitness industry should stop pretending that morality and business opportunity cannot exist together

👉 Because adaptive fitness programs can represent both

The $100Billion fitness industry is missing out on another 25% of the population

People w disabilities need educated fitness trainers. The need exits. The trainers, adaptive programs and gyms do not

A deadlift doesn't have to start from the floor to be effective.

Honestly, for many standing athletes with lower extremity impairments, the goal isn't just to lift weight; it's to build a strong, stable posterior chain safely. By using creative setups and a third point of contact for balance, we can unlock the power of the hinge for any athlete.

The fitness industry says “fitness is for everyone”…

But for millions of people with disabilities, that still isn’t true in practice

The biggest barrier usually isn’t motivation from gyms and trainers. It’s a lack of education

Most trainers were never taught how to adapt movements, modify workouts, or confidently coach athletes with disabilities

👉 That needs to change

Adaptive fitness isn’t a niche. It’s the future of health coaching.

So, yeah... we just wrapped the hinge breakout, and the seated deadlift is always such a huge "aha" moment for coaches. đź’ˇ

It really shows that adaptive training isn't just about scaling things down—it’s about understanding different mechanics.
If an athlete has hip function, it’s pretty familiar: feet down, squeeze the glutes, and drive tall. But for athletes without hip function? Honestly, momentum is everything. 🚀

I mean, you can’t just "slow and steady" your way back to a tall seat without those hips. You’ve gotta pull the weight back fast, open the chest, and drive the chin up to use that inertia. It’s physics, right?

If you’re a coach, stop forcing "slow and controlled" if the athlete's mechanics don’t support it. Teach them how to use that explosive pull to find their balance and finish tall.

What’s one cue that’s totally changed the game for your adaptive athletes? Drop it in the comments. 👇

Different methods. Same stimulus. đź’Ą

Standing or seated, the goal remains: moving safely, building symmetry, and crushing the range of motion. We just wrapped the Squat Breakout, teaching coaches how to adapt the movement for:

âś… Seated athletes (the power of the dip!)
âś… Upper/Lower extremity athletes
âś… Neuro athletes

No athlete left behind. No movement unadapted. 🦾

Let's get one thing straight: "Adaptive" is not a synonym for "less intense."

Honestly, we see this all the time—the idea that adaptive training is a separate, less-challenging world. The truth is, the principles of smart, progressive training are universal, and the intensity is relative to the individual, not their diagnosis.
