Students Engaged in Public Health at UMD Students Engaged in Public Health (SEIPH) is the student organization for the Public Health Science m

Our goal is to make our members informed about issues that are prevalent in Prince George's county, as well as the United States as a whole. This semester we will focus on: adult obesity, STIs, children living in poverty, violence prevention, environmental health, & race and the justice system. We will work on understanding the intricacies of each issue by listening to knowledgeable speakers, participating in open panel discussions, and hosting events that raise money and awareness for each issue. Please come out to our first interest meeting on Thursday, February 18th at 6pm (room TBD) to learn more!

Our first Women's Health Month themed GBM will be this Wednesday at 6 PM in SPH 2236 (The Friedgan Family Seminar Room by the shiny testudo). We will have a great discussion about Women's health and professional development with a Guest Speaker! We will also announce our new board members so make sure you come out!

The SEIPH blood drive with the Children's National Health Network was a major success! We were able to collect 30 units which will potentially benefit 120-130 children at the Children's National Hospital. Thank you to all of donors and volunteers! Look out for another blood drive next semester!
