Do you have a loved one who is getting older?
If you're caring for an elderly person, you know that it can be a challenge. But there are also some things you can do that will help you ensure the best possible care for your loved one 👴
👉 Here are 3 tips to get you started:
1️⃣ Focus on prevention
The best way to care for your loved ones is to be proactive and preventative. For example, if you notice that a medication is causing a side effect, talk to your doctor about switching it out for something that will work better.
2️⃣ Stay informed on medication management.
Make sure you know what medications your loved ones are taking, and how they should take them. If there's anything new going on in the family (new medications, life changes), share that information with the doctor so they can adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
3️⃣ Remember cognitive health.
Just because someone is older doesn't mean their brain has stopped working. Maintain regular brain stimulation through puzzles and games like Sudoku or crosswords; this will help keep your loved one's mind sharp!
