As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon it is my privilege to get to do procedures that not only improve self image and self confidence, but also procedures that restore what was lost by trauma or medical treatment such as in breast reconstruction. 💜
This patient had a mastectomy. Mastectomy patients who choose reconstruction undergo a planned series of procedures to create an aesthetically pleasing breast mound. Everyone’s journey is different!

This patient had a Latissimus Dorsi muscle flap and skin transferred from her back to her chest, along with a breast implant for added volume. The left breast was reduced for symmetry and lastly, a brand new ni**le was created on her reconstructed breast, which can be tattooed for a more perfect color match. 👌🏾

Perfection is not possible but it is still always the goal! This patient is happy to be able to wear regular bras again without a prosthesis and she has gained so much of her confidence back! .

This patient wanted her breasts to be less droopy and not to necessarily be larger. So we chose fat instead of an implant to give her a natural plumping. Fat is great for modest increases in breast volume, but not for jumping cup sizes. 💜
At 3 months she is still healing and scars are still evolving but she is thrilled with her taught flat tummy! 💜
