UMD Counseling Center The University Counseling Center at UMD, Division of Student Affairs. For an appointment or more information, please call or visit us during business hours.

For emergencies call 911. Messages not monitored. Reposts do not equal endorsements. During the four years at UMD, students go through many changes and face many obstacles. The UMD Counseling Center provides free services to students who are going through academic issues, social and family issues and vocational concerns about their future. This page is not monitored 24/7 and should not be used for emergency purposes and/or schedule an appointment. The Counseling Center’s after hours call service which is staffed by professional counselors is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for urgent mental health concerns. Should you need this service, please call 301-314-7651. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency that requires immediate attention, call 911 or proceed to a nearby hospital emergency room.

Access the Counseling Center’s 24/7 urgent crisis support (in person during business hours and by phone after hours) or call/text 988 for the National Su***de and Crisis Lifeline. Counseling Center services and the National Su***de and Crisis Lifeline are both free, confidential, and available 24/7.
