Did You Know?

If you were charged with or convicted of a DUI/DWI/OWI in another state, and your license is suspended in that state due to it, you do not necessarily have to physically return to that state to address the re-licensing requirements. Many people believe that they have to return, and can not afford to do so.
They live their lives without driving, or worse, drive without a valid license, which can lead to an arrest.

Each state has a department dedicated to helping people with substance-related convictions clear their license in that state, so that that they can apply for licensing in their current state of residence. Often, the requirements can be completed in the person's current state of residence. If you live in Georgia, Synaptic Network may be able to assist you with fulfilling these requirements. The first step is to contact the state where your license is suspended and get the information needed regarding your specific clearance requirements. If evaluation, education, and/or treatment is required, you are welcome to give Synaptic Network a call and we can provide these services, or connect you to another agency that can. The contacts for these other state departments can be found on Georgia's DUI Intervention Program website; the link is below.

Good news for people with a lifetime CDL disqualification. A new rule allows you to restore your commercial driving privileges after 10 years if you meet certain conditions. Synaptic Network offers DUI clinical evaluations, which is one of the conditions of restoration if the disqualification was due to Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Just give us a call; we'd be happy to help!

Synaptic Network offers substance use assessments via a telemental health interface to clients in Georgia. For those who live in underserved countries, or who have transportation, time, or dependent-care limitations, this can be an excellent option.

One area where more research is needed is on programs that mix telemental health with traditional treatment, because in many instances a combination of the two will work better than a steady diet of either. The use of telemental health as an alternative or a backup needn’t be saved for emergencies...

Possessions are tied to identity in ways we may not appreciate until we try to purge them from our lives. The popular push toward minimalist spaces forces us to reckon with our “material” selves—and there are few uniform solutions.
