Honoring Our Heroes: A Heartfelt Veterans Day Celebration at Brookdale College Place

Tuesday, we came together as a community to honor those who have served our nation with a Veterans Day celebration that truly captured the spirit of gratitude and respect our veterans deserve.

The celebration opened with a JROTC presenting colors as the LDS College Place Ward Young Women sang the National Anthem, their voices setting a reverent and uplifting tone for the day. We were moved by heartfelt tributes to each military branch, presented by our dedicated Brookdale staff, resident family members, Brookdale residents, and community members who joined us for this special occasion.

The highlight of our program came when our own Brookdale residents came together to sing “God Bless America,” their voices united in patriotism and pride. It was a moment that reminded us all why we gather to honor these brave men and women.

The celebration continued with an exciting visit from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, who graciously offered motorcycle rides to our residents. One particularly brave resident eagerly accepted the opportunity, and the joy on her face during the ride was absolutely priceless. It was a perfect ending to a day filled with honor, remembrance, and community.

To all our veterans: thank you for your service and sacrifice. We are forever grateful.

💙 Family Meal Time in the Coca-Cola Room. 💙

What started as a simple idea - a monthly lunch in the Coca-Cola room for those who wanted a different lunch experience - has become one of our most treasured traditions at Brookdale College Place.

This isn’t just about the food (though this month’s homemade potato soup, tomato soup, and fresh-baked bread were absolutely delicious - only one loaf left out of six!). It’s about what happens around those tables.

Our residents help with preparations, set the tables, pour juice and water for each other, serve one another, and notice when someone needs a little extra help. They share stories of their grandma’s cooking, their mother’s favorite recipes, the first time they tried potato soup, and cherished memories of family mealtimes from years past.

Watching them connect through these stories, care for each other, and recreate that family meal atmosphere - that’s the magic. It’s not just lunch. It’s community. It’s remembering. It’s belonging.

This is what makes Brookdale College Square home. ❤️

What a way to end the month!! 🎃 Our Halloweek celebration was filled with laughter, creativity, and so much Halloween spirit!

From painting pumpkins and decorating cookies to testing our knowledge with Halloween trivia, our residents enjoyed every festive moment. We celebrated the superhero powers within each of us and welcomed trick-or-treaters with open arms and full candy bowls!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this week so special. The joy and smiles we saw throughout the week remind us why we love what we do!

When someone’s a little unsure about the rules or trying to figure out their next move, there’s always a neighbor ready to lend a hand, offer a helpful hint, or talk through the strategy together. The patience, kindness, and teamwork around the table today were truly heartwarming.

It’s not just about winning — it’s about learning something new, staying sharp, and enjoying each other’s company. These moments of connection and support are what make our community so special!

🍕 Pizza Party Alert! 🍕

Today, our residents got to shape their own dough and choose exactly what toppings they wanted—from classic pepperoni to colorful bell peppers, fresh tomatoes, and all the cheese their hearts desired!

The smiles were as big as the pizzas as everyone got hands-on creating their perfect personal pies. There’s something special about making food from scratch, especially when you can customize every bite to be exactly what you’re craving.

From shaping the dough to watching their creations come out of the oven golden and bubbly, our residents had a blast. And the best part? Enjoying their delicious homemade pizzas together!

Who knew we had so many talented pizza makers in our community? 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Happy Hour at Eritage Resort!

What a perfect evening! Our residents enjoyed happy hour at the beautiful Eritage Resort, complete with delicious food, wonderful company, and absolutely gorgeous weather.

The smiles say it all—there’s nothing quite like good friends, great conversation, and a scenic backdrop to make an afternoon special. After we enjoyed our meal, we took a leisurely drive around the resort to admire the stunning orchards and take in the beauty of the grounds.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to get out, explore our community, and create new memories together.
