Celebrating Vera! 🍅 Meet Vera, whose love language is fried green tomatoes! At our garden lunch, she had been looking forward for weeks to sharing her favorite crispy, golden fried green tomatoes with everyone. They were absolutely delicious and disappeared as fast as she could make them!

A week later, Vera visited a friend who surprised her with fresh green tomatoes. When her friend offered to cook them, Vera immediately jumped in to make them herself—that’s just who she is! She loves showing gratitude through small acts of service.

Her friend was so touched by this sweet gesture that she captured the moment and sent it to the local newspaper. There’s our wonderful Vera in her apron, doing what she loves most: caring for others one fried green tomato at a time.

We’re so grateful to have Vera as part of our community! 💚

Spontaneous Adventure! 🥤 We decided last minute to take some of our wonderful residents from Brookdale College Place to The Soda Stop for some delicious flavored sodas. Nothing beats the joy on their faces trying new flavors and the laughter we shared over our sweet treats! Sometimes the best memories are made when you throw the plan out the window and just go have fun. These amazing people remind us every day that it’s never too late for a little adventure and a lot of joy! ❤️

What a wonderful day at the Walla Walla Quilt Festival! 🧵✨

Our residents had the most amazing time walking through all the beautiful displays and finding their favorite quilts to pose with. From stunning star patterns to intricate geometric designs and cheerful patchwork pieces, there was something that spoke to everyone’s heart. The artistry and craftsmanship on display was absolutely incredible!

Their faces lit up as they shared stories about their own quilting memories and admired the talent of these quilters. Art truly has no age limit, and these beautiful creations reminded us all of the joy that comes from creativity and community. Thank you to all the quilters who shared their amazing work - you made our day extra special!

BINGO UPDATE!
Another “friendly competition” at Brookdale College Place! 😄 Our residents take their bingo VERY seriously… and by seriously, we mean they’re keeping a close eye on each other’s cards because “someone’s been getting awfully lucky lately!” 👀

BINGO Hot Topics:
• Who’s hoarding the extra daubers? 🤔
• Are two pieces of candy per BLACKOUT really enough? (The answer is apparently NO)
• We know who the cheaters are! 😂

When residents shout out what number they should call next… and then that’s ACTUALLY the next ball drawn! 😱 The gasps and laughter that follow are priceless! It happened THREE times, and now everyone thinks they have psychic powers! 🔮✨

The candy disappeared faster than the B-7s, and everyone’s already asking when the next game is!

What an incredible morning at Wings over Walla Walla! ✈️

Our community had the most amazing experience sitting right on the tarmac, watching these gorgeous vintage and military aircraft in all their glory. There’s nothing quite like seeing these beautiful planes up close as they take off and land - the power, the history, the craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking.

We were especially honored to have residents join us who have served our country, along with Veteran Wives, and those who helped build these magnificent machines. Watching their faces light up as these vintage beauties roared to life was truly special.

The breakfast was fantastic too! Eritage Resort treated us to a delicious spread - we could choose between breakfast nachos or fluffy pancakes topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Hard to focus on food though when you have front-row seats to aviation history!

For those adventurous enough, plane rides were available - what a thrill that must have been! This event perfectly combined community, history, great food, and unforgettable memories.

Thank you to everyone who made this morning so special.

What an amazing day representing Brookdale College Place in the Walla Walla Frontier Days Rodeo parade! Our bus looked fantastic rolling down the parade route, and we’re so proud to have won 2nd place in the assisted living category!

These photos capture some special pre-parade moments with our wonderful resident Vera meeting the beautiful horses that were lined up right behind us. The connection between our community and these majestic animals really embodies the true spirit of Frontier Days.

Thank you to all the staff who made this possible and to our residents who brought such joy and enthusiasm to the parade. What a perfect way to celebrate our local Western heritage! 🤠🐎

Aloha from our amazing Hawaiian Luau last night! 🌴🌺

Our residents brought the tropical spirit to life with beautiful leis, festive decorations, and the biggest smiles! From the delicious island-inspired spread to the vibrant “Aloha” backdrop, everyone embraced the Hawaiian theme with such joy and enthusiasm.

There’s nothing quite like seeing our community come together for a night of fun, laughter and tropical vibes. The energy in the room was absolutely infectious - you can see the happiness radiating from every photo!

What a wonderful Independence Day celebration at Brookdale College Place! Our residents had a blast decorating patriotic cookies, singing favorite songs, and enjoying a delicious barbecue together. What a wonderful afternoon we had with residents' flower arranging! 🌸

Our residents had such a blast creating these beautiful arrangements - the smiles and creativity in the room were absolutely infectious.

There’s something so therapeutic and joyful about working with fresh flowers, and everyone left with gorgeous bouquets to brighten their rooms.

This was such a delightful activity! We’re already looking forward to the session next quarter. 🌺

What a beautiful Tuesday we had at our weekly sing-along! There’s something truly special about voices coming together in harmony, sharing favorite songs and creating joyful moments.

Last week was extra meaningful when family members joined us - seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and watching different generations connect through music reminded us why these gatherings are so precious.

Music has this wonderful way of bringing people together and lifting spirits. We are looking forward to many more Tuesdays filled with song!

What a pawsome day at Brookdale College Place! 🐾

We were thrilled to welcome the amazing Go Team Therapy Dogs for a special visit with our residents! Watching faces light up as residents petted, hugged, and shared stories with these gentle four-legged ambassadors was absolutely heartwarming.

These therapy dog visits provide such meaningful comfort and joy. The unconditional love and companionship these specially trained dogs offer reminds us all of the incredible healing power of the human-animal bond.

Thank you to the Go Team Therapy Dogs and their dedicated handlers for bringing smiles, laughter, and precious moments of connection to our Brookdale family. We can’t wait for your next visit!
