Dr. Simaan Shini received a Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University in 1999 and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University Eye Institute in Houston in 2004. Thomas University for a Masters in Finance. He completed his clinical training at the renowned Karolinska St. Eriks Eye Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is board certified in the treatme
nt and management of ocular disease and is a Texas licensed Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Shini is a member of the local chamber of commerce in College Station, Texas. He has been a guest speaker at Texas A&M and has practiced in College Station since 2004. Dr. Shini's practice concentrates on the family eye care, specialty contact lens services, and the treatment and management of ocular disease with particular focus on Dry Eye, Allergies, Glaucoma and Diabetes. Dr. Dmitriy Zike was born in Arkhangelsk, Russia, and lived there for several years before moving to the Bryan/College Station area in Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and worked at Eye Trends as a student during his undergraduate studies, where he became very familiar with ophthalmic products and practices. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2012, he attended the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. At Rosenberg, Dr. Zike earned many accolades and awards in both academic and clinical course work and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rosenberg School of Optometry in 2016. Dr. Zike spent his first year as an Optometrist practicing in San Antonio, Texas, before choosing to return home to Bryan/College Station and Eye Trends. Dr. Zike specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease and he is a Texas licensed Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Zike’s practice focuses on family eye care and the treatment and management of ocular disease with particular focus on Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Diabetes, and Myopia Control. Dr. Zike is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology & Myopia Control and offers Orthokeratology services as a means of correcting vision and slowing down the progression of myopia. He is also proud to serve as an eye care referral center for the Texas A&M University Health System. STAFF
