What toddler doesn’t love snacks or tbh just the hearing the word snack?!!

Snacks are typically more fun than meals, they get to eat them freely vs in a chair, most come in a fun package, & crackers taste the same every time

But what if we changed how snacks looked 👀 snacks don’t always have to be packaged or even homemade, just simply pairing a fruit + cheese or toast + avocado could be snacks

Hopefully this gives you some new, realistic ideas that are still super easy to grab đŸ™ŒđŸŒ

Tbh this doesn’t happen often since we’ve established a v consistent routine, but it does still happen!!

And when it does happen it’s important for us to first regulate our emotions (even tho we tired too lol), hold our boundary (no backup meals), & shift the focus from pressure to invitation

Think about “how can I make this more fun than what they’re currently doing?” bc mealtimes don’t have to be boring! Or maybe they don’t want what you served – ok how can you help them make it better?! Or maybe they aren’t even hungry bc they snacked all afternoon

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL the moms out there—

Whether you’re spending time w your kids, missing your own mom, waiting for your rainbow baby to come, wishing you could give them one more hug, or still trying to find you in motherhoodđŸ«¶đŸŒ

If you told me 4 years ago I’d be hanging out with my 2 kids today, I wouldn’t believe you. I’d say “we’ll see” while having constant doubt in my heart after experiencing multiple losses. If that’s you—I pray you keep believing & hoping that day will come, don’t give up trying to become a mom even if it looks differently than you planned

I truly never thought I could feel so many emotions in one dayđŸ„Č it’s a beautiful, wild ride & I’m so glad I get to do it with each of you here!! My lil bubble in the social media world

Are you even a toddler parent if you don’t have random snacks stashed in your crossbody, backpack, or glove compartment??💀

When grabbing snacks, I like to think of ways I can make them more nourishing vs something that’ll only hold him over for .5 seconds

Here are some balanced pairings you can make w a few of our faves:
- popmms + hummus/guac cup or cheese
- fruit jerky + cheese or meat stick
- almond cheddar crackers + cheese or chicken salad or fruit
- .us + meat stick or cheese
- mandarins + meat stick or yogurt cup or snack bar
- meat stick + fruit
- bar
- freeze dried fruit + nut butter packet
- hippea or PB puffs + fruit
- chia jam packet + rice cake w nut butter
- dried mango/fruit + meat stick

When buying packaged snacks I aim for no/low added sugar, low sodium, fiber/protein source, simple ingredients, & ones that I will enjoy too!!

We don’t have to keep buying separate items for our toddlers, bc truly adult food can be kid food & kid food can be adult food đŸ«¶đŸŒ

Or maybe you’ve picked up certain food beliefs over the years, like

– limiting/avoiding certain food groups
– labeling foods as “toxic” or “bad”
– skipping meals or grazing all day
– only allowing dessert after dinner

It’s no surprise that feeding your little one can feel stressful & overwhelming when so much nutrition info is thrown at usđŸ«  I totally get it—there’s a lot of conflicting advice out there!

Does my toddler eat everything I send? Some days yes, other days no. And that’s to be expected!

Bc remember—toddlers have multiple eating opportunities throughout the day to get the nutrients they need! Focus on offering variety when you can, & trust that they’ll eat what their body needsđŸ«¶đŸŒ
