🌸🌺Spring Gardening Safety🌺🌸
Spring is here: soil under your nails, birds singing, and the irresistible urge to turn every patch of dirt into a masterpiece. We love that you’re getting outside — just a few quick, friendly reminders so your garden party doesn’t turn into a call for us.
🪻Gardening Safety Tips🪻
🔔Check alarms before you mulch
Replace batteries and test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms — because a chirp during a barbecue is less charming than you think.
⛽️Fuel and flame distance
Store gasoline, propane, and fuel cans well away from sheds and garden beds. If you’re using a gas-powered tool, refuel outdoors and cool-down first.
Tool time, safe time
Keep sharp tools sheathed or stored; wear gloves and eye protection; and don’t use a hedge trimmer like a lightsaber.
🔥Grill and fire pit common sense
Keep grills and fire pits at least 10 feet from structures and overhanging branches; have water or an extinguisher handy; and never leave a fire unattended.
🍂Compost and brush piles
Compost and brush piles can smolder and ignite. Turn compost regularly, keep piles away from buildings, and chip or remove large brush promptly.
🪜Ladder and tree work safety
Use a stable ladder on level ground, have a spotter for pruning, and call a pro for big tree work — we prefer to visit for tours, not rescues.
Enjoy the blooms, plant something that makes you smile, and keep safety in your gardening toolkit. If you’re ever unsure about a situation that looks risky, give us a shout — we’ll help, and we promise to bring our best dad-joke-free professionalism.
