Members, friends, and yoga community,
I’m sad to announce that we will be closing The Yoga Casa. We have searched high and low for a new space, but it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now. Honestly, I can’t say what the future holds for The Yoga Casa. We have a fantastic community, and I encourage all of you to stay in touch with each other (and me and the teachers too!)
I am deeply saddened to be ending this chapter of my life. Running the studio has been the most challenging, rewarding roller coaster ride of a lifetime. I’ve loved and hated it, sometimes simultaneously. Yet, I would do it all over again. Maybe I will re-open again at some point with new vigor and energy, but at this point, frankly, I’m tired and need time with my kids, who are now 16, 9 and 8 (but were only 11, 4 and 3 when I started this crazy endeavor).
My plan is to take an actual vacation (with no emails to check, no fires to put out and no work to do after they go to bed.) I will be out of commission for all of June and July. You know it’s hard for me not to work, but Mr. Yoga Casa is pretty insistent that I need this break. He’s a wonderfully supportive spouse, AND he’s right.
We will hold classes until May 21st (when we will have a studio closing party). We are planning a "yoga garage sale" for May 28th.
The Yoga Casa teachers have been so supportive and understanding of this decision. Please reach out to them and continue to support their work!
I am so grateful to all of you who have supported us through the many ups and downs. We’ve been through so much together. Building out the space, getting to know each other, dealing with construction, plumbing issues, surviving a pandemic, figuring out Zoom, enjoying book club, getting back into the studio, construction, lots of holiday celebrations and even more construction. The best part has been knowing all of you and being a part of your lives. I will miss that more than you know.
Much love to you all,
Lora
