As Scotty adjusts to his new childhood, he has struggled with various social anxiety and behavioral issues. However, we have found one approach that consistently helps soothe him and facilitate connection. Scotty has become increasingly captivated by the Pout-Pout Fish book series and the emotional food series . I have prepared a wish list of the specific titles he has been enthusiastically seeking recently. We appreciate the ongoing support you have provided and do not expect anyone to specifically buy anything but I figured I would post this since I have had several people reach out to me regarding his recent interests.

We are home. They silver nitrated it for the time being and are calling to schedule him for surgery in the coming days.

As we head to Children’s for a surgical consult, I think back on our many many trips… today Scotty didn’t know which way we had to go to get to the hospital and that was the most astonishing moment… this little boy use to tell me every turn all the way there for our almost two hour drive! For him to forget I am greatful. It makes me hopefully that some of the mental trauma won’t follow him his entire life!

Scotty went yesterday and seen his team at Children’s. He has a mole/ skin tag in his right leg that keeps bleeding so he has to go next week for a consult with plastic surgery to have it removed. He also sees endocrinology in April, and scans in March.

We got Scotty’s results and there is no evidence of recurrent disease!!!!! Scotty has to have labs in 4-6 weeks because his hemaglobin is trending down, labs and visit with his oncologist is 3 months and then a big set of scans in six months! I have so many mixed emotions about waiting 6 months for scans but I also know this is a good thing.. I just don’t think the constant worry will never get easier! Scotty also has to go see and endo because his growth has plateaued out on his height.. which coul be because his body isnt producing enough growth hormones and he has been on soo many steroids during treatment! Also he is on a 7 day antibiotic.. they seen the mucositis on his scans again in his lungs so he is on the antibiotics to prevent it from turning into full blown pneumonia!
