One of the biggest barriers to starting therapy is time.

A question we often encourage clients to ask is: Where can I intentionally carve out one hour? 🤍

Life is busy. Phones are pinging. Work and family responsibilities are constant. But sometimes support looks like protecting just one hour a week.

For some, that means a telehealth session during a lunch break — even from the privacy of your car. For others, it’s leaving a little early one afternoon or building it into a quieter part of the day.

When clients intentionally prioritize that hour, they often notice the benefits ripple into the rest of their week. 🌿

If you’re interested in scheduling a daytime appointment, we’re here to help you find an option that fits your life — not disrupts it.

March 14th is World Sleep Day, and it’s a reminder that sleep isn’t just about quantity — it’s about quality.

If you’re not sleeping well, it’s not a willpower issue. You’re not doing anything wrong. 🤍

Sleep is influenced by so many factors: stress levels, hormones, life transitions, trauma, and changes in routine. At different points in life, our sleep can look different — and that’s normal.

If you’ve been struggling with falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up feeling rested, it may help to talk it through. Our therapists are trained in sleep hygiene and can help you better understand what your nervous system might need. 🌿

We’re here when you’re ready.

When you’re coping with stress or trauma, sometimes it helps to let yourself be a little “weird.” 🤍

We often think of coping skills as breathing exercises, journaling, meditation, or fidgets — and those tools are powerful.

But healing isn’t only cognitive. It’s also physical. 🌿

Movement can be incredibly regulating. Dancing. Shaking. Stretching. Even making sound. Engaging the body in safe, intentional ways can help discharge built-up stress and support nervous system regulation.

Research in the field of trauma reminds us that healing isn’t just about talking — it’s also about reconnecting with the body.

At Mind, Body, and Soul Therapy & Counseling, many of our clinicians incorporate body-aware and somatic approaches alongside traditional talk therapy to support whole-person healing.

March is Social Work Month — and today we’re proud to spotlight the incredible social workers of Mind, Body, and Soul Therapy & Counseling. 💙

Social workers are highly trained professionals who dedicate years to education, supervision, and hands-on experience. Their work goes beyond helping individuals cope — they work to reshape systems, expand access to care, advocate for equity, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Over the past year, our society has experienced major shifts in our economy, healthcare access, and the way we connect with one another. Through it all, social workers have continued to show up — for individuals, families, and communities.

This year’s theme says it best:
Social Work: Uplift. Defend. Transform.

At MBS, our social workers uplift clients through compassionate care, defend dignity and access to treatment, and help transform lives every single day.

We are grateful for the skill, advocacy, heart, and resilience they bring to our practice and our community.

If you’re a stay-at-home mom carrying the mental load of being the CEO of your household, we see you 🤍

Managing schedules. Anticipating needs. Regulating emotions. Making countless invisible decisions every day.

Being a stay-at-home mom is real work — meaningful and exhausting at the same time 🌿

The greatest gift you can offer your family isn’t perfection — it’s taking care of yourself. A regulated nervous system. Support. Space to reset.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or depleted, therapy can help you navigate this season with more steadiness and clarity.

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is February 23 – March 1.

This year’s theme, Every BODY Belongs, reminds us that eating disorders can affect anyone — regardless of age, body size, race, gender, or background 🤍

These are complex mental health conditions… not lifestyle choices. Millions of individuals struggle quietly due to stigma, misunderstanding, or feeling like they don’t “fit the mold” of what an eating disorder is supposed to look like.

If you’ve been experiencing distress around food, body image, or eating patterns… support can make a meaningful difference. 🌿

At Mind, Body, and Soul Therapy & Counseling, we provide a safe and respectful space for individuals seeking care.

Step inside Lizzie’s therapy room — a creative, welcoming space designed for connection, expression, and growth. Lizzie works with individuals, couples, and families, supporting clients ages five and up through life’s many transitions.

With a focus on grief, career changes, and self-esteem, Lizzie often incorporates art, games, and hands-on tools into sessions. Painting, coloring, cards, and fidgets aren’t just activities — they’re ways to help clients feel more at ease as they talk through what brought them to therapy.

This is a space where creativity meets care, and healing can happen at your own pace.

Prolonged exposure to racial discrimination, ethnic bias, and racism can have lasting mental and emotional effects.

It can show up as anxiety.
Depression.
Anger.
Even symptoms similar to PTSD.

Our nervous systems are not meant to stay in a constant state of fight-or-flight. When we’re repeatedly triggered — by current events or past experiences — it takes a real toll on the body and mind.

If this resonates with you, please know you don’t have to carry it alone. 🤍

At Mind, Body, and Soul Therapy & Counseling, we provide a safe, supportive space to process, heal, and reclaim your peace.

Reach out to schedule an appointment and take the next step toward caring for yourself. 🌿

Libraries offer more than books—they offer access, curiosity, imagination, and regulation.

Reading can support mental health by slowing the nervous system, offering perspective, and creating moments of calm in a busy world. And yes—audiobooks, graphic novels, and unfinished books all count.

This Library Lovers Month, we celebrate reading as a gentle and accessible form of self-care. 📚✨
