There is a high degree of burnout for funeral directors. The job requires us to be ready at any time of day or night to deal with tragedy and loss. Saturdays and Sundays are many times, normal work days for funeral directors. Our phones are near us all of the time because we can’t predict when the phone will ring. It all becomes worthwhile when a family’s gratitude is expressed.
