Hi I'm sitting in the car waiting for my kid to finish soccer practice.
I've been feeling… a lot. I wrote this note to myself in my phone just now. I thought I'd share. Maybe it will help somebody.

Also this:
Relax your shoulders. Unclench your jaw.
Deep, slow breath.

Kay.
Love you.

We can do hard things, like make it through together.

Never take what others think or say about you personally. How they respond is never about you and always a perception they have from within them.
This is your precious life don’t let the opinions of others dictate how you will live it. Keep doing what you’re doing with integrity and love.

(You have to learn the difference between someone disrespecting you vs you feeling disrespected. Emotional ears hear from a place of offense. Sometimes it’s not what they said, it’s what YOU are triggered by. And unless you know your triggers, you’ll see everything as an attack. - )

Choose peace over people-pleasing.

Sometimes what's best for someone is not what you would feel comfortable doing in your own life. Pushing people to be in situations that aren't healthy for them causes shame and impacts their mental health.

Its okay to not give advice when it not supportive.

*The last sentence in this post can be applied to a variety of situations. “Let's practice allowing people to do what's best for them even when you would personally do something different.”

“Generational patterns are woven into the fabric of our lives. But they are not set in stone. Fabric can be unraveled, tears mended, knots untangled. And a new pattern can be tenderly and intentionally begun. We are the story-weavers of this generation. May we wield our looms with the bravest love and fiercest hope imaginable.” L.R. Knost

Have you ever opened up to someone about your trauma and had them discredit you? Maybe even blame you?

We'd like to believe this experience is rare, but we know it does happen. If it ever happens to you it's important to remember that no one has the right to tell you how to feel.

If you want to feel heard and supported head on over to our support wall! Link in bio!
