🌈 The only pic I got from today's St Patty's Day toddler party!

🌈 What fills my heart is that this group was made up of kids I either haven't seen since they were babies or siblings of kids that used to come to group years ago. Not to mention my friends that visit group every month!

🌈 That you keep coming back means the world!!!

πŸ§β€β™€οΈSwitched things up a bit in class today since everyone is ready to stand! Moved tables next to one another and alongside the mirror & kitchen to encourage standing and cruising.

πŸ§β€β™‚οΈWe had a fun class and I got to see everyone do something new!
πŸ§β€β™€οΈTwo stood by themselves
πŸ§β€β™‚οΈOne stood by herself AND danced!
πŸ§β€β™€οΈOne stood at the mirror
πŸ§β€β™‚οΈOne took steps!
πŸ§β€β™€οΈOne walked with his hands held and pushing a cube

πŸ§β€β™‚οΈAnd we celebrated a first birthday!!!

πŸ§β€β™€οΈThat's a full day! If you're looking to work on standing, try switching up the play space & raising toys up onto elevated surfaces. Then let me know how it goes!

πŸ§β€β™‚οΈPS: I also learned that someone's big bro thinks "Miss Sara lives in the gym by the train station" and I mean he's not wrong πŸ€ͺ

πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ So I just tried powerlifting for the first time at

πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ It was fun to try something brand new and a great reminder of the work of motor learning! πŸ€“

πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ I was shown the components of each move, then talked through it, and even with my mature intact nervous system, I kept saying "wait what?" "Now what?" "wait, I'm scared". At one point the trainer said "bend your knees" and I literally said "how?!?!" as if I've never bent my knees before.

πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ All this made me think of my babies & big kids who are trying so hard to learn new motor patterns to help them become mobile. It's hard work and can be scary! To my kiddos who are scared and frustrated....I get it now!

πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ PS: my trainer was supportive, encouraging, and helped me build confidence. Highly recommend!

My mission

My mission is to promote safe and efficient mobility so that children can fully participate in their most important job…PLAY! With proper alignment as the framework, I focus on core strength through everyday play activities and transitions. Facilitating typical development and educating parents along the way is at the heart of my treatment approach.

I provide highly skilled physical therapy assessments and treatment to infants and children with motor challenges.
