If the energy feels off everywhere you go, it might be time to gently turn inward and ask—what energy am I bringing into the room?
But first… what is “energy”? It’s not some fixed, universal thing everyone experiences the same way. Energy is perception, nervous system state, emotional tone, body language, intention—it’s the subtle atmosphere created between people. And because every person has a different history, different triggers, and a different baseline, everyone experiences “energy” differently.
From a psychological standpoint, the brain is constantly filtering reality through past experiences. If there’s tension, frustration, or unease INTERNALLY , the mind will look for confirmation EXTERNALLY. That’s how projection works—we don’t just see what is, we often see what we feel. If there’s tension, frustration, or resistance sitting under the surface, the nervous system scans the environment for proof—and suddenly everything feels “off,” even if nothing external has actually changed.
In yogic philosophy, this is the dance of the gunas. When we’re operating from restlessness, irritation heaviness, disconnection, the world can feel unsettled or misaligned. But when we return to—clarity, balance, grounded presence—the same space can feel calm, supportive, and aligned.
Energy isn’t just something we walk into… it’s something we contribute to. Every thought, every breath, every internal narrative shapes the field around us.
So if one person is consistently feeling “off” while others feel steady and aligned, it’s worth exploring what’s happening internally rather than assuming something is wrong externally.
Awareness is power. Ground your breath. Check your state.
