Important Update for Our Patients: Humana Medicare Advantage Network Change

Effective January 1, 2026, Southern Family Medicine will no longer be in network with Humana Medicare Advantage plans. This was a unilateral decision made by Humana, and they gave no reason for the termination. If you are currently enrolled in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan and wish to continue your care with us, you may need to consider other Medicare options.

Medicare open enrollment begins on October 15, 2025, As you review your choices during the open enrollment period, please be aware that Southern Family Medicine is also not in network with Wellcare nor Cigna/Healthsprings Medicare Advantage plans. Before signing up for a new plan, we encourage you to contact our office to make sure we are in network with the plan you are considering. Our staff is here to help answer your questions and guide you through this process.

With snow and/or sleet predicted to cause hazardous travel conditions, we have made the decision to close the office on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Please avoid travel if at all possible, and stay safe and warm!

The office will close at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and remain closed Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Regular business hours will resume Thursday, January 2, 2025.

We will be closed during the week of Thanksgiving (November 20-November 24). The office will open again on Monday, November 27th at 8:00 AM.
Make sure your refills are up to date before the week of Thanksgiving. If you need a refill during the week of Thanksgiving, please have your pharmacy send an ELECTRONIC request as we will not have access to faxed requests. Please allow up to 48 hours for refill requests to be processed.
