Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield for Chellie Lou Pittman, 89 of Sumrall, who passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins, Ms.

Reverend Johnny Williams and Reverend Brad Roberts will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Pittman Cemetery in Bassfield. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Haley Roberts. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Santee Baptist Church, 447 Santee Baptist Church Road Prentiss, MS. 39474.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McCray, Ashton Jones, Mikey Pittman, Jon Woodruff, Steven Pittman Jr. and Jason Pittman, Jr.

Mrs. Pittman was born on January 19, 1936, in Bassfield, Mississippi, to Lucas Terrell Norris and Alma Graves Norris. She was a member of the Santee Baptist Church. Mrs. Pittman was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucas Terrell Norris and Alma Graves Norris; her husband, Clifton Richard Pittman; two sons, Ricky Pittman, and Robert Pittman; two brothers, Burkett Norris, and Clyde Norris; and two sisters, Gloria Jean Boleware, and Emma Ramagos.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Pittman (Patricia) of Collins, Chris Pittman (Cindy) of Sumrall, Steven Pittman of Sumrall, and Jason Pittman (Marie) of Sumrall; one daughter, Patricia Carter McCray of Seminary; two brothers, Virgil Norris of Bassfield, and Billy Norris of Bassfield; three sisters, Dimple Williamson of Seminary; Myrtia Weber of Bassfield, and Alma Strong of Batchlor, Louisiana; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jayess, Mississippi on Friday January 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm for Shirley Glennell Stringer, 63 of Siminary who passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at her residence in Seminary, Mississippi.
Rev, Elliot Rutland will officiate the graveside services at Calvary United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Jayess, Mississippi.

Shirley Stringer enjoyed her life with her family and they with her, They will miss her and will cherish their memories with her.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Marvin W. Holmes of Jayess, mother, Glenda F Barnett Holmes of Jayess, brother, Bobby Ard of Jayess.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Stringer of Seminary. Daughters, Leona Craft of Tylertown and Gerry Mathis (John) of Tylertown, brothers, Billy Ard of Jayess and Carlos Ard of Monticello, Grandsons Wyatt Mathis of Tylertown and Jack Slater of Tylertown, granddaughter, Lanie Craft of Tylertown.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Neil Delbert Rogers, 89 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Alden Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Dr. Joseph Bird and Dr. Hal Hood will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jennie Blackwell, Mrs. Babette Duty, and Mr. James Arrington Goff. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Mr. Rogers was born on September 8, 1936, in St Francis, Kansas to Lloyd and Mildred Jacobs Rogers. He was a graduate of the St. Francis Community High School. Mr. Rogers received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts from Ft. Hays State University in Ft. Hays, Kansas in 1958 and later received his Master's Degree in Industrial Arts from Colorado State College in Greely, Colorado in 1961. His work career consisted of thirty-five years of service teaching Industrial Arts in numerous schools in Kansas, Colorado, Germany, Hattiesburg, and Seminary until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement, Mr. Rogers worked as a Maintenance Foreman for Forrest General Hospital for sixteen years. He was a devoted member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Collins.

Mr. Rogers was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Jacobs Rogers; and a brother -in-law, Robert Wotring.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Jacque Pearl Williams Rogers of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Annabeth Rogers Bates (Garren) of Hattiesburg; one son, Eddie Rogers (Amy) of Purvis; one brother, Troy Rogers of Monte Vista, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Billye Williams Wotring of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Tyler Bates and Coben Bates, both of Hattiesburg, and Nick Rogers of Purvis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Faye Arlivia (Harvey) Mooney, our precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Myrtle Harvey, and her siblings, Rudolph Harvey, James Harvey, and Dorothy Lott.

Faye is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-five years, Talmadge Dewitt Mooney, her children, Teresa (Craig) Ladner and Jay (Monisa) Mooney, her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mawmaw - Craig (Macy) Ladner, Jr., Travis (Perris) Ladner, Monica (Rick) Taylor, Daniel (Sarah) Mooney, and Mason Mooney, great grandchildren - Camaron Ladner, Rileigh Ladner, Conner Favre, Brinlee Taylor, Hudson Ladner, Odin Mooney, Brooklee Mignault, Zoey Mihalik, and Brailey Cook, and sisters - Elizabeth Lott, Cletys Sanford, and Sada Sistrunk.

Faye grew up in Collins and later made her home in Gulfport with her husband and children. Throughout her ninety-three beautiful years, Faye's greatest joy was her family. She found happiness in every holiday gathering, every shared meal, and every moment with those she loved, especially the babies! She loved attending her church and worshipping the Lord. Mawmaw was loved as a grandmother to many younger friends and church members. Her well-known, delicious desserts included our favorites - pecan pie and blueberry cake - which were frequently requested by her loved ones!

Through every season of life, with all of the challenges and the celebrations, Faye was the steady heart of our family. She was a constant source of love, humor, and kindness to everyone she met. Her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from 1-2 pm at Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 3202 HWY 49 Collins, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Collins Methodist Church in Collins for James E. Pickering, 105 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Mr. Pickering was born on September 2, 1920, in Kola, Mississippi, to Wiley Thomas Pickering and Alice Rigby Pickering. He was a graduate of Collins High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Pickering was a self-employed contractor and developer for over seventy years before his retirement. He proudly served his country as a First-Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Pickering was a faithful member of the Collins Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Stewards for many years and in other capacities of the church. He was a lifetime member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #34. Mr. Pickering was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by them all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ercell Watts Pickering; his parents, , Wiley Thomas Pickering and Alice Rigby Pickering; two brothers, Kermit Pickering and Denton Pickering; and two sisters, Erna Bell Pickering Knight and Christine Pickering Speed.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy Pickering, and his wife, Dianne of Collins; two grandchildren, Tal Pickering, and his wife, Tracy of Collins and Molly Pickering Napier, and her husband, Eric of Brandon; five great-grandchildren, Macie Pickering, and her fiancé, Josh Blackledge, Haydyn Pickering, Garrett Robinson, and his wife, Amber; Ejay Napier, and Gracey Napier; two great great-children, Leighton Jo Robinson and Eli Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He retired from Universal Magnetek after thirty-five years of service as a supervisor. Mr. Duckworth proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Mount Horeb Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and he will be dearly missed by his father and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Anderson Duckworth; his parents, Narvel R. Duckworth and Frances Coston Duckworth; three brothers, Sid Duckworth, Robert Duckworth and Carr Duckworth; and six sisters, Lottie Duckworth Pitts, Lillie Duckworth Bryant, Dovie Duckworth Bryant, Johnnie Duckworth Gaither, Gladys Duckworth Loveless, and Vallie Duckworth Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Easterling; one daughter, Linda Kay Easterling; her parents, Hiram Magee and Ruth McDonald; and one brother, Samuel E. McDonald.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Collins for Virginia Ann Rogers Blackwell, 93 of Owasso, Oklahoma and formerly of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the St. Simeon`s Assisted Living Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dr. Hal Hood, Mrs. Nina Blackwell Wesley, and Mrs. Nan Parker Wilson will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Dianne Speed. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Billy M. Virginia was born to Oby and Ruby Taylor Rogers in Williamsburg, Mississippi, on June 4, 1932. She was welcomed by her sister, Grace Helen and her brother, Harlan, and completed their family. As her parents were teachers, she attended school in the communities where her parents were teaching. Attending different schools gave her the confidence to attend Mississippi State College for Women in north Mississippi after graduating from Purvis High School. After graduating from MSCW in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics, she taught in several schools and made life-long friends with her fellow teachers and students at Seminary High School.

Virginia married Robert Edward (Eddie) Blackwell, Jr. on November 26, 1960, and they Welcomed their only Child, Nina Lynn, in October 1961. Virginia was a devoted mother and also supported Eddie in owning and operating several local businesses. She also supported Eddie in his role as Mayor of Collins for twelve years, and when he died suddenly before his fourth term Mayor began, she served as the interim Mayor.

Virginia was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Collins for more than sixty years and volunteered in many capacities. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed flower gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family and with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Blackwell Jr.; her parents, Oby and Ruby Taylor Rogers; one brother, Dr. Harlan B. Rogers; and one sister, Grace Helen Rogers Parker.

Survivors include her daughter, Nina Lynn Blackwell Wesley, and her husband, Mark of Owasso, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Lauryl Lynn Wesley Pingel and her husband, Ben of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Logan Mark Wesley of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Covington County Church of Christ in Collins for Linda Kay Powell Rawls, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her residence in Collins, Mississippi.
Brother Slade Powell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Covington County Church of Christ Cemetery in Collins.
The family will receive guests from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Covington County Church of Christ, 716 Highway 588 Collins, Mississippi 39428.
Pallbearers will be Greg Cole, Kayden Murphy, Travis Burgess, Taylor Burgess, Jordan Lea, and Troy Powell.
Linda loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending her time with them, especially her grandchildren. She was well known in her community as the former owner of The Corncrib Florist and from cooking at the deli in Piggly Wiggly in Seminary. Her presence brought laughter, love, and kindness to everyone she met. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis Powell and Deary Gregory Powell; two brothers, Franklin Powell and Willard Powell and one son-in-law, Jim Brunson.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Jimmy Doyle Rawls of Collins, one son, Scott Thomas Rawls (Kathy) of Ellisville; two daughters, Carolyn Marie Rawls Brunson of Moselle and Patricia Gail Burgess (Edward) of Collins; three grandchildren, Jessica Murphy (Buddy) of Moselle, Travis Burgess (Chelcie) of Hammond and Taylor Burgess (Jasmine) of Ohio; six great grandchildren, Kayden Murphy, Brent Burgess, Jack Burgess, Sophie Burgess, Halle Burgess and Reaghan Burgess.
