Hydration! Especially important on these hot summer days. Here are just a few ways water supports your growing child’s body:
* Supports the development and functioning of joints
* Helps blood flow and carry much needed nutrients to cells
* Assists in balancing body temperature
* Aids in digestion
* Improves mood, memory, focus and attention
Choosing water is your best bet as it has no added dyes or sugars.
Here are some ideas to make drinking water fun:
* add a couple of frozen fruit pieces (strawberries, blueberries, watermelon or any of their favorites)
* add cucumbers
* add lemon or lime slices
* add some mint leaves
* add any favorite herbs
These will enhance flavor without adding sugar.
Stay healthy and cool in the summer heat!
