🌿 “Why do I do the things I don’t want to do?” (Romans 7:15)
Even Paul wrestled with parts of himself pulling in different directions.
In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, we learn that we are not fragmented or faithless—we are beautifully complex, created with many Parts, each trying to help us survive in a broken world.
✝️ And at the center of it all, God placed a Self within us—calm, curious, compassionate.
A reflection of the Spirit within.
The Self leads not by force, but by grace.
🔹 Managers try to protect us through control, perfectionism, or criticism.
🔹 Firefighters distract us from pain—sometimes with overwork, addiction, or withdrawal.
🔹 Exiles are the young, wounded parts carrying our deepest hurts and fears.
But God doesn’t abandon any part of us.
🕊️ Through therapy and prayer, we can invite the Holy Spirit into these inner spaces—to bring healing, connection, and peace.
