It translates to "Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose"
An asana I love to hate. Hate to love? Both? Yes, both. This challenges me - my balance, my patience... my EGO!! So I am reminded to breathe. To let each time be its own experience. To smile and accept and appreciate every expression of it. To giggle when I wobble or flare my arm and lifted foot in some awkward and wild attempt to regain my balance. To release my foot hold when I need to set it down and try again. This pose has taught me such self-acceptance and graciousness. Give it a go, hand against the wall for balance or using a strap (or belt with a loop like me because I'm traveling) or testing your balance. Be gentle with yourself even as you challenge yourself.

Today we'll take a look at Camel Pose, a heart opener that has taught me a lot. I'll share some options and some thoughts, and hopefully help you find what works for you. I'll show some options seated in a chair, but kneeling on the floor as well. So a chair or bench that won't slide around, and a towel for your knees and another to sit on could be helpful. This Saturday, March 4th 9a MST, we'll work on some heart openers, which can be tough for lots of reasons. They put our body into a backbending shape, but we'll be sure to explore plenty of options in a chair, standing, and seated. Not flexible? Perfect!!! Come anyway and find YOUR way to open and expand with gentleness and self-kindness.
