My goal as a fitness coach is to really open up the eyes to general gym-goers that there’s more out there than training like a bodybuilder. In general, I find almost all people want to function in everyday life and not just purely look good without a shirt either though that’s common as well. Combining the looking good aspect with a feeling good aspect is really important to me as a personal trainer. Sharing a small win I had today with my client who is strictly just used to training upperbody and arms, and nothing else. Happy Monday!

To see results in the gym, particularly strength and building muscle. You need a plan. Not a workout. I recommend to repeat 🔁 your routine for about 4-5 weeks for best results. This is backed by science 🧬 but also is the perfect amount of time so you don’t get bored of the same routine. Dm with ?s

SAY NO…TO KNEE PUSH UPS! 🙏🏼
If there’s anything I’ve learned in my years and experience of coaching real humans in person is that you need a regression and progression system. There are certain movement patterns that are optimized for building muscle and strength, but not everyone is starting at the same level.
For a lot of of my female clients push-ups can be extremely challenging. But instead of doing your typical knee push-ups, which doesn’t require much core activation.
I like to bring the floor up to them to start just working that pattern through the full range of motion as we continue to get stronger overtime.
Here is my diagram for building the push-up pattern over a well designed program. All of these movements are designed to strengthen the core stabilizers, shoulder stabilizers, and the overall upper body pushing pattern.
Dm with ?s happy training!

Conditioning for Longevity (build the engine)
Logged my first 10k on the air bike today. God it sucked 😆 main goal is to set a baseline so I can improve over time and train my heart & conditioning
Conditioning isn’t just about performance… it’s one of the most direct ways to support long-term health and longevity.
Think of your aerobic base as the engine. Lifting weights will build the frame of the car. But won’t necessarily keep it running. Also for all the “anti-cardio” peeps…it will not ruin your muscle mass. If anything it improves your recovery. Get after it

💥 Dynamic Banded Lifts 💥
Using bands for explosive hip rotation work is great for athletes, but honestly just as important as we age to keep the hips strong.
Golf. Hockey. Baseball . Lacrosse. Field hockey. The list goes on. Working these patterns makes you a better athlete and functional human.
Over at .fortwashington I have a Sports Performance Workshop at 7 PM tonight..couple spots left! Dm with ?s
