I figured, if this was as bad as it gets and I'm still here, then how good can it get?
Each year gets better and better. The first 3-5 years were capital HARD. The learning curve was so steep - especially for someone that wanted to do things with less chemicals, less human intervention, and more faith then bee clubs were used to seeing.
All the books told me I had no idea how to keep bees. My second winter proved them right. My third winter though? I started to create an actual management plan, learn the IPM pyramid, find sources that did things differently, dive into biodynamics, frequency manipulation, and chemical-free literature that was proving successful.
It's been a whirlwind, but beekeeping in a way that aligns with your values, beliefs and intervention comfort level is completely possibly.
If you want to learn how I did it, and how I currently manage my bees, I have a special program I am revamping calling The Beekeeping Blueprint where I teach you just that.
