Aveanna is proud to recognize World Heart Day, a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease (CVD) and encourage communities to advocate for heart health. 2025 is especially unique because it marks the 25th anniversary of World Heart Day.

According to the World Heart Federation, CVD kills over 20 million people each year. However, 80% of premature deaths from CVD can be prevented by simple changes to diet, exercise, and stress management.

This year's theme for World Heart Day is "Don't Miss a Beat," an initiative to raise awareness for the fact that so many people are missing out on time with loved ones due to early deaths as a result of CVD.

Happy Birthday to Aveanna patient Jeremy!

Jeremy has been a patient with Aveanna for nearly 3 years. Over that time, we have gotten to celebrate several milestones with him and his lovely family!

Through the Colorado Family Caregiver program, Jeremy's mom, Melissa, is a registered nurse and provides care for Jeremy as his CNA. This special program enables her to provide personalized, at-home care for her son, all with Aveanna by her side.

Meet Tommy!

Tommy is looking for a private duty nurse to join his care team to provide care for him in his home. The idea for Tommy and his family is attentive and a critical thinker. It is important to him that his nurse is a non-smoker since he is trach and vent dependent. He gets G-tube feeds and requires frequent repositioning. Tommy smiles when he is happy and will wave goodbye.

Care equipment: Vent, trach, oxygen, CPT vest, cough assist, nebulizer, and Hoyer Lift.

Shifts Available: Monday-Friday 0600-1600 days and Monday-Friday 1800-0600 nights. Mom is flexible on night coverage.

Jackson has been a patient of Aveanna for twelve years! He started 7th grade this year and loves Mario, video games, the color red, animals, his family, and musicals - especially "Zombies" and "Descendants." He wants to be a YouTuber when he grows up!

Jackson previously received Private Duty Nursing services through Aveanna, but thanks to the Colorado Family Caregiver Program, he now receives care from his mom, Traci, who is his CNA! The Colorado Family Caregiver Program allows Traci to be compensated for Jackson's care while having a dedicated partner in Aveanna to make sure she has the support she needs to care for her son.
