Sensory boxes are a great way to incorporate speech and language goals into a fun activity. This week, some of our kids went on an egg hunt. Inside each egg hidden in a grass-filled container were exciting surprises from the "I Spy Dig In Find It" game. During this activity, we practiced target sounds (e.g., I am SCooping up the eGG), following multi-step directions (e.g., First put the egg under your chin and then behind your back), labeling colors and common object vocabulary, describing functions and attributes of objects and answering open-ended "what" and "where" questions. All the while, the kids had a great time!

We are excited to announce that a new speech therapist, Breanna Webster, has joined our team! Here is a little more about her:

Breanna graduated with her bachelor's from Indiana University and her master's from Ball State University. She is an Indiana native who made the move to Colorado in late 2023. She is passionate about working with the pediatric population and helping them thrive in all environments. Breanna particularly enjoys play-based and child-led therapy which allows kids to surprise her everyday. When she’s not in the therapy room, she loves to read, likes watching movies, and enjoys exploring the country with her boyfriend.
