We hope this Labor Day weekend allows you time to unwind with family and friends, doing things you enjoy with the people you enjoy most. For our employees, many of whom will spend the holiday at a patient’s bedside, filling prescriptions, making patient meals, or accomplishing any of the other many functions that allow our life-saving work to continue unabated, we offer our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering commitment to caring for others, even when it means time away from your families. We are blessed and inspired by your work to improve the lives of our fellow human beings.

Outside of Salt Lake City last week, our teams at CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley and Jordan Valley West hosted local EMS agencies for comprehensive classes on EKG interpretation, led by Dr. Casey Londer. Across the Mountain Region, our partnerships with EMS agencies in every community we serve are crucial to saving lives. We appreciate all first responders!
Humankindness and friendship are two threads of the same cloth. And true friendship is being there when they need it most.

Happy Janmashtami to all who celebrate!
Nearly one billion people across the world celebrate the Hindu festival of Janmashtami, which remembers Lord Krishna being born on a stormy night at midnight, the eighth child to his mother. The prophecy of Krishna foretold that as an adult, he would end the reign of his uncle, an evil king who slayed each of his siblings born before Krishna. Lord Krishna is honored on the anniversary of his birth with devotional songs, fasting and games that recognize Krisha’s playful tendencies as a child.
Building healthier communities isn’t all fun and games — but sharing humankindness with Denver sure was. A big thanks Broncos legend Mark Jackson and the one and only Miles for the help!

5-Star! Congratulations to CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood and CommonSpirit Mercy Hospital in Durango for being awarded the prestigious 5-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The annual CMS star ratings are based on 46 hospital quality measures in areas including safety of care, patient experience, readmission rates, and timely and effective care. This year, less than 10% of hospitals nationwide received a 5-star quality rating. We're proud of our caregivers at St. Anthony and Mercy hospitals for this incredible achievement!
Our Frisco-based Flight For Life Colorado team was happy to assist Summit County Rescue Group on two separate missions over the weekend involving hikers who experienced serious medical issues in the backcountry. While August is a great month for hiking, biking and climbing in Colorado's mountains, please prepare accordingly for your adventures and know how to reach help you if you need it.
The Summit County Rescue Group enlisted the help of two helicopters in two days this past weekend to help hikers who found themselves in trouble while summiting Colorado’s high peaks. Amid a summer that has...
At CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital, our team works with local partners to provide fresh produce and food giveaways for community members throughout the summer. Last Friday's event served fresh veggies as well as some organic beef, pork and yogurt to more than 50 cars and 150 area residents. It's all part of our ongoing efforts to reduce food insecurity throughout the communities we serve. Great work, Longmont United Hospital and partners like the Longmont United Hospital Foundation, UpRoot Colorado, and Longmont Food Rescue!
Let’s go!
There is no how-to guide for humankindness. Each of us is free to express, define, and relate to it in our own way.
Blue Angels x Flight For Life Colorado - our new favorite collab! Our Flight For Life program is proud to be the dedicated on-site medical helicopter for this weekend's Pikes Peak Regional Airshow in Colorado Springs, which features the incredible U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

Rick Enstrom's journey with West Nile Virus is an unfortunate reminder of how serious - and even fatal - the illness can be. One year after a mosquito bite upended his life, we're grateful to see the progress he's made and humbled to have played a role in his care and recovery.
Rick Enstrom, of the Enstrom Candies family, is back at home with his wife Linda, one year after he became infected with the West Nile virus and nearly died.
Humankindness changes the game. So we turned it into one and sparked some community love in Denver. of the Denver Broncos

Humankindness manifests itself in so many ways — and it’s also the one thing that connects us all.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is a special recognition of the incredible compassion nurses demonstrate in the course of their work. Dana Stenger, RN at CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital, recently received a DAISY Award for the life-changing impact she had on one of her patients. Here's what the patient wrote in a nomination letter:
"Dana was my nurse and recognized that I was only sleeping, not really functioning. She let me sleep off my meds, which I love her for. I was never in pain with her, but I was able to function. She was the ray of sunshine that God sent to me to get my head in the right place. She encouraged me and was so kind with her positive energy. She talked to me and put me in the right state of mind to face my new challenges and way of life."
"If she didn't help me, I don't really think I would be in the place I am now getting ready to go home with a new outlook on my new challenges coming my way! I am positive and ready to face my new life without my limb. Thank you, Dana. I truly love you for being the best nurse I have ever seen. Thank you for knowing what I needed and getting me in the best frame of mind. I will never forget you!" 🌻
Nothing makes us prouder than receiving feedback like this from a patient: "I had reverse shoulder replacement surgery at St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. I had three exceptional nurses who took care of me. They kept me company after surgery for four hours as I recovered. They all had great bedside manner and were so personable. Thank you!" We are grateful for all our care teams and the compassion, talent and expertise they share throughout our healing ministry.
Moms work hard to give babies the best start in life. By supporting families in their breastfeeding journey, you're not only helping them — you're helping create healthier, happier communities. Here's why breastfeeding support matters.
Humankindness connects us, heals us, and uplifts our spirits. To spark acts of kindness, we took to the streets of Denver with Miles and Denver Broncos legend Mark Jackson.
