Listen, it’s not magical doings instead of mental health care or spiritual healing instead of going to therapy… it’s both, reinforcing each other.
I have PTSD from surviving being kidnapped and trafficked as a child. I started the heavy lifting of therapy and therapeutic activities in my late teens to address this. Why? Because I couldn’t manage my life or relationships because I was acting out and spinning out. I needed to hold down a job and maintain trusting relationships. Therapy helped me do that.
At the same time I was getting myself together, psychologically, I was going very far afield magically and spiritually. Because I was attending to my psychology, I had a great sense of discernment when it can to spiritual practices. I also had childhood training so I was able to explore my mastery instead of trying to gain mastery in early adulthood in magick and divination.
My mental health improvement made me a better metaphysical reader and being a metaphysical reader fast-tracked my mental wellbeing.
Not to downplay serious mental health conditions like mine that to my eternal irritation, take lifelong management. So when some spiritual practitioner says they can “heal” me completely with spiritual practice, that’s a huge red flag and makes them easily avoidable.
You should also see that kind of 1 and done sales pitch as BS. In addition you should see your mental health as important as your physical health as something to attend to.
That way we can be super duper manifestors together!
