Hi, I'm Frank Wott, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in therapy and medication management for teens and adults. While therapy is a vital tool for mental health, there are times when your needs may require medication to help you find your footing. We will work together to make this determination and create a path forward. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable space where we can work together to better understand your concerns and develop a treatment plan that fits your individual needs and goals.
Signs to Consider Medication:
Impact on Functioning: Your symptoms are making it difficult to complete tasks at work or school, or you are struggling with executive dysfunction.
Persistent Symptoms: You have experienced deep sadness, detachment, or anxiety for several years that seems to be worsening despite using coping skills.
Physical Disruptions: You are facing chronic insomnia, nightmares, or significant changes in appetite.
Safety and Intensity: You are experiencing intense emotional dysregulation, "level 10" emotional outbursts, or thoughts of self-harm.
Treatment Resistance: You have tried therapy alone and still feel like you are "drowning" when faced with daily responsibilities.
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques when appropriate to help clients recognize patterns in their thoughts and behaviors, while also focusing on overall wellness, lifestyle factors, and emotional well-being. I understand that every person's journey is unique, and I strive to meet clients where they are with empathy, respect, and encouragement throughout the healing process.
If you're considering taking the next step in your mental health journey, I encourage you to reach out. Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate it alone. I look forward to creating a supportive and collaborative space where you feel comfortable, understood, and empowered to move toward greater well-being.
