Don't forget- Tomorrow, April 22, is DEA National Drug Take Back Day! This is a great opportunity to clean your medicine cabinets and dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

There are several opportunities to dispose of prescriptions in El Paso County, including the drive-thru events at Pikes Peak Library District - Fountain Library and the Security Fire Department from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

We grieve the loss of one our county’s finest. Prayers on peace to his family in this difficult time.

It is with a heavy heart that we share Deputy Andrew Peery has been killed in the line of duty.

The procession for our fallen Deputy Sheriff will start at 8:30 pm from Memorial Central Hospital. It will proceed to Nevada and go in front of the Sheriff's Office on Vermijo. From there it will go to I-25 to the Coroner’s Office. Please line the streets with your flags for the family.

Per SAMHSA: Beginning July 16, 2022, 988 will be the new three-digit dialing code connecting people to the existing National Su***de Prevention Lifeline, where compassionate, accessible care and support is available for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress—whether that is thoughts of su***de, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.
