🚨 Urgent Action Needed: Protect Disability Services in Colorado 🚨
JFK Partners at UCCS has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families since the mid-1960s. Their University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is part of a national network providing lifesaving services, research, and training in every U.S. state and territory.
Now, the Administration’s current budget proposal calls for eliminating UCEDDs nationwide — including JFK Partners’ UCEDD right here in Colorado.
Last year alone, UCEDDs:
✅ Trained over 620,000 people nationwide
✅ Served 1.3 million individuals with disabilities
✅ Provided critical supports from early childhood through adulthood
Here in Colorado, JFK Partners’ UCEDD delivers:
Developmental assessments & therapy
Transition-to-adulthood and employment services
Autism and mental health research
Rural and underserved community outreach
If these programs are cut, Colorado will face devastating gaps in services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
📢 We need your voice now! The Association for University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) has made it easy to urge Congress to fully fund UCEDDs in FY 2026.
