In today’s episode of Lackett Farming, last minute, what in the world are we doing? Canning bone broth. Making fermented garlic in our own honey. And and one of the baby chicks started laying this week. The eggs are progressively getting bigger. She has laid 3. The picture is her 3 and then a normal egg for size comparison. It’s going down! Super cool. I’m not sure how slow molasses is but I AM sure how slow honey is. So today something is “as slow as honey”, it too is slow. And oh so sticky. It tastes good. A bit like peppermint. It’s so light! And I think we are harvesting 2.5 gallons on our first harvest. Next year we will likely get 4 times this amount. We only harvested from one hive and that is unusual to do within the first year.
