A.C.W.C.- Office Updates!
We have a few price updates: Starting May 1, 2024, a Chiropractic Maintenance Visits will now be $55 (adult) and $45 (children under 13) instead of $85. This will include a Spinal and Extremity or Cranial adjustment, Percussion and Traction included.
All contracts will end after May 31, 2024 no matter when the original end date was.
We are so excited to announce Jennifer Williams, LLC and her office, THE WELLNESS SPOT, is now accommodating ALL massages. Dr. Candice has been very happy with having Jennifer in our office for several months, as she has proven to be a very reliable massage therapist who cares for our patients the way Dr. Candice does. We are making the transition easy for each patient and continuing to schedule massages, Chiropractic and needling consecutively for the next month. Jennifer then got certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach while being a loving mother of three. Jennifer choose to become a Health Coach to fulfill her desire to work with children and parents to improve their health and family life. Jennifer received her training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she received in-depth training in nutrition, health and wellness, coaching skills, and business development. She leads workshops on nutrition and offers individual health and nutrition coaching to parents and families.

Here are five benefits of being outdoors:

Lowers your blood pressure and reduces stress — Spending time walking or simply looking at trees lowers blood pressure and reduces the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenaline.
Improves mood — Researchers have found that nature simply makes us happy. Anxiety, depression and anger are notably decreased after spending time outdoors.

Improves focus — Studies show that both adults and children who have difficulties focusing or controlling impulses are better able to concentrate after being in nature. Supports graceful aging — According to a study in the Journal of Aging and Health, adults over 70 who spent time outdoors experienced fewer sleep difficulties, complained less about aches and pains, and enjoyed improved mobility and ability to perform daily activities.

It’s World Sleep Day! That means it’s time to highlight the importance of good sleep for our health and well-being.

The lack of sleep can cause eye to twitch (when tired), brain fog, migraines, irritability, inability to concentrate, and pain.

Long ago, people started noticing that nature could help them feel better and get good rest. They found out that listening to certain sounds and frequencies, using energy from the world around them, and even holding special stones could make them feel more peaceful and sleep better. These practices have been around since the times of ancient Greece and have helped lots of people chill out and get the rest they need.

So let’s explore 3 hacks for better sleep - frequencies, binaural beats and gemstones!

Frequencies for Sleep
Certain sound frequencies are thought to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality by influencing brainwave patterns, leading to deeper states of relaxation.

528 Hz: Known as the Love Frequency, it's believed to bring transformation and miracles into one’s life, promoting healing and relaxation.
174 Hz: Considered a natural anesthetic, it helps to reduce pain physically and energetically, creating a sense of safety and security, thus aiding in better sleep.
432 Hz: Known for aligning the body and consciousness with nature's harmony, this frequency is said to be particularly soothing and may help with falling asleep faster and more peacefully.

Gemstones for Sleep
Gemstones are often used in practices like crystal healing, where they’re believed to emit specific vibrations that can interact with the body's energy field to promote health and well-being.

Binaural Beats
Binaural beats are a fascinating auditory phenomenon that occurs when two slightly different frequencies are played separately to each ear through headphones. The brain perceives a third tone based on the mathematical difference between these two frequencies, creating a beat or pulsing sound at a specific frequency. This effect is thought to influence brainwave patterns and can be used to encourage various states of consciousness, including relaxation, sleep, meditation, stress reduction, focus, and creativity.

The principle behind using binaural beats for sleep is related to the idea of entrainment, where the brainwave frequencies align with the frequency of the binaural beat. This can be accomplished with brainwave tuning forks (one by each side of the head).

For sleep enhancement, binaural beats in the Delta (0.5-4 Hz) and Theta (4-8 Hz) frequency ranges are particularly beneficial:

Delta Waves (0.5-4 Hz): Associated with the deepest levels of relaxation, healing sleep, and detached awareness. Listening to binaural beats in the Delta range can help induce deep, restorative sleep, making them ideal for people suffering from insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns.
Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): Linked to REM sleep, reduced anxiety, relaxation, as well as meditative and creative states. Theta binaural beats can help prepare the mind and body for sleep and improve the quality of sleep.

Integrate Into a Bedtime Routine: Listening to binaural beats can be more effective when it's part of a consistent bedtime routine. This helps signal to your body that it's time to wind down and prepare for sleep.

So today, take some extra time to relax, think about your bedtime routine and make the changes necessary to improve your health – it’s all tied into sleep!

AVOID THE BLOAT
The holidays are here and we’re all trying to avoid the bloat.
Sure, cutting loose to celebrate with friends and family makes this the best time of year—but your stomach often pays the price. Routines are off, traveling throws you out of whack, too much comfort food, not enough exercise, and popping the bubbly every night can lead to a tempest tummy.

Bloating often reflects your diet—especially overindulging in food or drinks—something that’s hard to avoid during the holidays. From work parties to family celebrations, it’s easy to find yourself feeling heavy and bloated.

But don’t despair! Prepare!
