Are you claustrophobic? Did you know there is an open MRI? The standard is the most confining but gives the best images, and the short-bore MRI, which is open and wider, would be best for anxiety, although the images would be of lesser quality.

CT scans show a slice, or cross-section, of the body. You can view a tumor's shape, size, location, and even the blood vessels that feed the tumor without cutting into the patient.

The duration of an MRI can really depend upon what it's needed for and what area is being imaged. It can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
