Today, was not a day that I felt like corralling the children and going to the gym. So, instead, I did a 12 minute high intensity workout on the the rug of my porch while the children attacked each other in the pool.

I don't accept the "No Excuses" culture because I want my clients to feel encouraged to respect their bodies' cues.

I do, however, like to reside at the intersection where my goals can realistically meet up with the amount of energy or time that I have to give for that day. Which is fluid and isn't always predictable. If this type of mindset is something that resonates with you- maybe I'm the coach that need! πŸ’•

10 weeks out from my first Powerlifting competition after having my 2nd child. He turned 3 last month and I would say that this current season of my life is when my body finally feels familiar.Yes, 3 Years later- healing takes a while man! Anyway, the biggest change for me, is that my pelvic floor has strengthened so much so all of the movements feel more stable and powerful. How does one do this ☺️?

*Changing "straining" into " bracing"

*Learning how to breathe, RELAX and contract your pelvic musculature,

*Education on what the PF is, how to seek care for PF dysfunction,

*Seeking programming from a coach knowledgeable on Pelvic Floor and Organ Dysfunction . ( Oh, hey, that's me in case you didn't know πŸ˜‰)

*Lastly, by remembering to please stop listening to Aunt Linda and Grandma J- whoever, saying that peeing your pants is normal. Just because something is common, doesn't mean that it isn't an issue.

**(Steps down awkwardly from soap box)**

Here is my first heavy deadlift day programming since forever! It felt foreign and familiar. I used lower weights than I'd planned because life is a marathon and there are no rules!
