Brown, Master of Science in Education of Kinesiology, Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, RN, ACSM CPT Blake has been passionate about learning how to achieve an optimal level of health and wellness, based in science and research, his entire life. He earned a Master of Science degree in Education of Kinesiology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale during his early 20's. He has also spent a considerable amount of time taking additional courses in the study of both athletic training and chiropractic medicine at the collegiate level. Blake has been a group fitness instructor for 12 years and holds multiple group fitness certifications, and has been an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer since 2011. Blake's most recent academic achievement was studying and gradating from Goldfarb Barnes Jewish Hospital College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then passing the NCLEX earning him the title, license, and medical respect of Registered Nurse. While working for the Kinesiology department during graduate school teaching exercise science and nutrition/wellness classes, he trained a diverse amount of clients with varying abilities, aliments, and goals at the student recreation center and throughout the community while conducting original research and attending his graduate classes. Upon graduation he moved to Nashville TN and continued to teach group fitness classes and build his personal training business in and around the city. During this time he honed and developed his personal training skills and knowledge while working in and being exposed to the private sector of the fitness industry while working with and meeting a diverse population of other fitness professionals with various strengths and specialties in a variety of settings he readily learned everything he could from.

I am excited to announce that the Driver Personal Health and Fitness app is up and operational! This has been a massive undertaking, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you!

So what does this mean? It means I'm open for business and am now accepting new patients and clients! With the use of the newly created, and easy to use Driver Personal Health and Fitness app, you can have the expertise and professional guidance of a Fitness Nurse, all from the convenience of your phone, anytime, anywhere!

This is the future of wellness and medicine, and I'm proud to be able to offer it to you in the comfort, and safety, of your own home. While nothing can replace in person personal training and nurse coaching, it's amazing how close this comes to it. In many respects, this system allows me to plan, analyze, and provide specific information and feedback more efficiently because you can pull everything up, anytime you want to, from the convenience of your phone! I'm talking hand outs, diagrams, workout/movement videos (soooooo many VIDEOS!), reminders, check ins - all specifically designed by me, individualized for you, to help motivate and give you the tools you need to work towards whatever your health and wellness goals may be!

Exercise is Medicine! Here is a fun little graph showing the abbreviated findings of a peer reviewed research study published in 2016 in the Journal of Pharmacology.

This graph represents the health-promoting effects of sports, physical exercise, and resistance training on various organs. Numerous reports have shown that sporting activity promotes health and functionality of muscles, lung, heart, liver, kidney, brain, pancreas, colon, prostate, and bones. In addition, it is reported that doing sports improves sexual function and significantly impacts the composition of the blood.

When I was a teaching assistant in the Kinesiology department at SIU, while obtaining my masters degree in Education of Exercise Science, I had the privilege of teaching 2 different KIN 100 level undergraduate nutrition classes. Due to my prior bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, I was fully aware of the immense amount of simple and helpful information publicly available and free to access at ChooseMyPlate.org.
